  1. You will be writing a book review on a book that you enjoyed this year. It can be a RI Children’s Book Award Nominee, or any book that you enjoyed reading this year.

2. You will need the book title, the book author, the number of pages and the book’s genre. You may use RICAT if you don’t recall this information.

3. Please fill out the book review graphic organizer. When you have done that, make sure to check in with me so that I can check you off to go to the next step.

4. The next step is your rough draft. Make sure that you include all of the elements in the graphic organizer. When you are done, make sure to check in with me so that I can check you off to go to the next step.

5. The next step is to enter your book review in a google form at the following address:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEdIWW5wRThmNXd3TFozbXR6bWhnN3c6MQ#gid=0

Please do not enter your book review until you have cleared your rough draft with me. If I find too many errors in your book review form, I will need to ask you to re- enter the information.

6. Your finished, typed book review will be sent to the webmaster of the RI Children’s Book Award if you have chosen a RI Children’s Book Award Book, or to the 6th Grade Scene Blog if you have chosen a different book.

7. You can read whatever you wish, but you must clear it with me first.

Enjoy! I’m really looking forward to your sharing your thoughts and your reading selections!
